Kari Sreenivasa Rao is a journalist turned entrepreneur, a man with a great passion for public life and deep commitment for wellbeing of people. Despite his humble roots, he struggled through the tough times and made a very successful career in the fields of journalism, government and corporate sectors. Agribusiness is his present mainstay.

Though his modest background compelled him to become a farmer right in his early teens, his unyielding passion for education helped him to work over his hardships and become a postgraduate with distinction. During his studies, Mr. Rao worked day in and out to tame his financial hardships. He made use of his mettle to the fullest extent and excelled in education as well as in National Cadet Corps. His zeal and determination won him in several medals, camp participations and finally highly coveted ‘C’ certificate of NCC.

While this taxing experience notified him of his resilience levels, NCC life taught him the importance of determination and the need to pull off in difficult circumstances.

Journalism was his first calling of Mr. Sreenivasa Rao. He started his career as a rural reporter of Udayam daily in Inkollu, Prakasam district. His textbook dedication in news gathering brought him immediate recognition and got promoted to Divisional Reporter position within a few months. His adept editorial capabilities, managerial qualities, amicable approach and principled nature have earned him the honour to lead the yesteryear’s well-respected political magazine of Andhra Pradesh Suprabatham in full editorial capacity. He led the magazine from the front, increased its reach and turned it into a profit-making media outlet.

After a successful term at Suprabatham, Mr. Sreenivasa Rao joined the government as a Public Relations Officer in Health Department. Within no time he was promoted as a special officer and deputed the Peshi of then Health Minister Dr. Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, with whom he has worked very closely. He also assisted the State AIDS Control Society to bring out its tri-monthly magazine Samarabheri.

Mr. Sreenivasa Rao is a man of heart and always adheres to a value system. After serving the Health Ministry of AP Government, Mr. Sreenivasa Rao joined Nagarjuna Group as an Assistant General Manager, where he had a 10 long years of successful service. It is at Nagarjuna, he learnt the ropes of agribusiness. While his direct involvement in high-level functioning of the company provided him the exposure to the essentials of corporate functioning, his participation in farmers’ workshops, all-India camps, dealership selection interviews and leadership meets have taught him the basic aspects of agribusiness.

Mr. Rao started a chain of pesticides and fertilizers shops named Network in the villages of Prakasam district, which gave him immense satisfaction and field experience. As a continuation to this activity, Mr. Rao established cold storages in Prakasam and Guntur districts to serve farmers; and also entered into the trade of agricultural commodities. He concluded his services at Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. with the hope to create something new of his own.
